Tremocos (Lupini Beans) were popular with the Romans and they spread their cultivation throughout the Roman Empire. Tremocos are sold in a salty water and can be eaten by removing the skin and “popping” the bean directly into the mouth. In Portugal they are served together with beer as a snack.
