IFC / Battistella Ubriaco
£5.48
Also known as the ‘drunken cheese’, Battistella Ubriaco gets its name from being submerged in crushed black grape pomace for up to a year. Originating in northern Italy’s Veneto region, said to have started when local farmers hid their cheese in wine from hungry soldiers in the First World War. It has a fragrant, fruity, fresh and intense flavour with a distinctive winey aroma. U/P Cows
